I write arrangements of choral music for varied ensemble types. If you would like to see a full version of any of the scores below, or if you are interested in my arrangements of other songs not posted here, please contact me.
I originally arranged this piece for myself and 6 of my friends (all vocal music educators) to sing at another friend’s wedding. The bride and groom initially met while we were all taking a summer graduate course at the Kodály Institute at New York University. I put a couple of our favorite Appalachian folk songs together into this “Kodály mash-up,” which I have titled “Appalachian Wedding Song.”
I asked a group of my vocal music educator friends to sing at my wedding. There is a song by the group Hundred Waters called “Show Me Love” that I really wanted them to sing. I transcribed the song from a recording and arranged it into vocal score for my friends to sing.
I arranged a version of the song “Stand By Me” (by Ben E. King & the Drifters) for my middle school choir. The group occasionally sang in an SAB configuration, but was most successful in 3-part mixed with the boys with changed voices doubling any of the 3 parts down the octave. For that reason, this arrangement has 3 treble parts, with each part getting a turn with the melody.
One Christmas, I was feeling the urge to write different arrangements of standard songs and carols. This was one of them.
