I love taking songs that weren’t intended for banjo and playing them on the banjo. Here are some of my favorites.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, the day after Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States, I wrote a song called “Spread Love.” The song was inspired by my feelings about the election as well as the conversations I had with my high school students that day. You can listen to the song here.
While I lived in Vermont (2012-2015), a friend and I performed in a mostly acoustic folk/rock/blues duo that we called Mix of Lydia.
One of the final requirements for my undergraduate degree in Music Education was my senior recital in the spring of 2007. During the hour-long solo performance, I sang a combination of classical and musical theatre pieces. At the end of the recital, I invited several friends to sing a musical theatre piece while I accompanied them on piano.
For student performances I have directed or been otherwise involved with, please head to my teaching samples page.
Stay tuned for additional recordings to be posted soon…
